Jenny Colton

Meet Jenny Colton, the founder of Colton Yacht Crew. With over 15 years´ experience as a Chief Stewardess  and 3 years in yacht crew recruitment. Jenny’s passion for the industry remains as strong as the day she first started.

Originally from Sweden, Jenny spent much of her childhood riding and competing in equestrian events. After completing her university studies, she moved to Spain with plans to work as an accountant. However, the allure of the yachting world quickly captivated her, and she hasn’t looked back since.

​

Her experience as both a Chief Stewardess and recruiter gives Jenny a unique perspective and understanding on what it takes to succeed in this fast-paced, ever-evolving industry. What truly fuels her is the joy of finding dream jobs for crew members and hearing their stories of adventure and success. For Jenny, the most rewarding part of her role is the satisfaction of connecting talented individuals with opportunities that allow them to thrive and building long-lasting relationships with her clients based on trust, transparency, communication and being personal.

Recruitment Process

Job description - A detailed job description of what you are looking for, including responsibilities, duties and additional skillsets etc. is very important for us to find the best matching candidates for your position. The more information we have, the better we can narrow down the search.

Head Hunting and Screening - We screen and source candidates and select 5-10 candidates for the next step.

​Internal Interviews - interviews with candidates that fits the criteria’s, we speak with all candidates that we submit to the vessels, and we screen them for your specific role, so once you receive a cv, this candidate is interested in your role, and not just any role

​Reference and Documentation Checks - We verify candidates references  both via emails and verbal references and we check that documents are valid and in date

​

​​Written summary - When we have all the documentation and a candidate has been property interviewed, documents and references checked, we write up a summary of the candidate, to present him/her to you. We explain a little of his/hers previous experience and characteristics

​

​Submission - We submit candidates to you after they have been screened and vetted and that are genuinely interested in your role.

​

​Client Interviews - When you have looked through the CV´s presented to you, you may want to interview one or several candidates. You may reach out to us, and we can arrange these interviews for you, however you see fit, via zoom, google, WhatsApp of a normal phone call, or even in person. You may also contact the candidates submitted directly if you wish, please do let us know if you do so to keep us in the loop.
